SRI LANKAN DESIGN INFLUENCE - different styles
When we were analysing the architecture styles in Sri Lanka in our groups we came across four different styles. Which is shown in the picture bellow.
I felt that most of the colonial period buildings had the arch shape in their designs. My favourite was the vernacular architecture in Sri Lanka. I was amazed the way they have designed the buildings. most of the buildings had a roof made out of cajan. The way they give priority for the ventilation and natural sun light is very impressive. Even the interior elements are usually made using natural resources.
