PERSPECTIVE DRAWINGS

Before starting my college I have never tried a
perspective drawing in my life. In fact never even heard of it. When we were taught to draw everything using the perspective points, I felt like why do we have to do such a lot of work to draw a normal object. But once we started drawing the interior of the buildings I realized the importance of it. It was a bit hard at the beginning but practice made it easier.

GOTHIC ARCHITECTURE - bone church

Seldec Ossuary is an unusual chapel situated in Seldec. It is an average old medieval Gothic church which is artistically decorated by almost 40,000 human skeletons.

GOTHIC REVIVAL - reims cathedral

  I did a research about the Gothic architecture, I checked the time period, the key features, The ironic designs in churches and all. When I was checking the photos this picture of the Reims Cathedral in France. It had a very unique structure. I felt that it was completely different from the other usual churches. It has a lot of tiny details which gives a rich look to it.

JAPANESE ARCHITECTURE - inspiration of the capsule tower.

                                    I did a small presentation about the Japanese architecture with my group. Even though we were asked to present it in groups we had to pick one own building in Japan or designed by a Japanese. So I did about the capsule tower. I quickly drew a pencil sketch of the building.

HISTORY GROUP ASSIGNMENT - cholla influence

Sri Ponnambalawaneshwarar Temple was made according to the 

Cholla architectural method. I found few similarities in the Brahadheeswara temple and the Sri Ponnambalawaneshwarar. I was very much amazed to see that, they have quite a lot of similarities in the way they look.

HISTORY GROUP ASSIGNMENT - topic selection

I was in a group of 6 and we were asked to pick a building. All of us suggested different buildings. we had a list of 6 buildings which had The temple of tooth rally, Embakke Dhevalaya, The Falling Water, Gangaramaya, Wat Rong Khun and The Kochikadai Shiva Temple.






But then our lecturer asked us to pick that is something contemporary. So we all decided to work on the Shiva Temple.




                                                                           

RETAIL - design inspiration for massing

I tried to get a shape out of the dances poses that I sketched. I selected 3 poses and did the outlines of that shape in 60 seconds. Then I selected 1 photo and did few quick sketches and got an interesting shape out of it.

GENERAL POST - chandler made out of used bottles

I was impressed  by the way the empty bottles have been used to make such an awesome piece of design work.

I figured out that the saree had a long history. It was the traditional dress of the ancient Jain monks.

In those days marriages used be held by the age of 5 and 6. Once if the husband(child) of the girl dies, she would be considered as a widow for the rest of her life and will be asked to wear only white saree.

Bridal wear in my family also has been the saree. I could find small difference in my grandmother's and my mother's bridal look.
